Blerim Dzemaili is a soccer player born in Tetovo, Macedonia, SFR Yugoslavia on April 12, 1986. He made his presence felt in world soccer when he represented the Switzerland in the 2006 World Cup. This young Swiss international regards Zinedine Zidane as the best footballer.


He started his career in the Swiss league in 2003 with Fussballclub Zürich (FC Zurich) and went on to become its captain when he was barely 20. He was a key member of the team that lifted the Swiss Championship in the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. During these two seasons, he made 55 appearances, scoring 6 goals for FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League. He also played in the FA Cup and Euro Cups during this period and scored 2 goals.


Blerim Dzemaili was signed by Bolton Wanderers in February 2007 on a preliminary contract. He made his debut for the club as a substitute in its match against the English football club Sheffield United.


Blerim Dzemaili has already earned the confidence of Sam Allardyce, boss of Bolton Wanderers, who feels that he is a fantastic player with a wealth of an experience. Blerim Dzemaili is expected to become a regular international soccer player for Switzerland in the years to come.
