Bill Edler was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1964 on February 11. Bill has graduated from the University of California-Berkeley with a law degree and his poker career began while he was trying to take his exams and practice law in real life. He realized that the game had gripped his attention in such a way that he never thought of passing his bar exam. Then Edler reached to the conclusion that the purpose of his life is not studying and doing things which would never give him the shiver he would receive playing games such as poker. Instead, Bill got a permanent place at the Casino San Pablo near San Francisco where he managed to improve his positions and to become the poker room manager – and that was the dream of his life. At that time Bill Edler took up with Eric Lindgren - Team Full Tilt’s who he engaged to hold a high post as a professional player.
His position as a poker player reached a high level in 2005 when Bill Edler walked into the world of big poker players, participating in both World Series of Poker tournaments for the year. Because of his two cashes there, together with the winning cash at The Second Annual Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship, Bill Edler became one of the most respected poker players in the whole world. His wins did not stop then of course - in 2006 he got the fifth place in the final table at the $1000 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo Event.
The most remarkable year for Bill Edler is 2007 when he finished at 13th place in the World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Open in January. Another great participation is reaching the 7th place in Poker Classic Tournament in February the same year. In March 2007 Bill Edler took part in The World Poker Tour event for a third time and finished in the Bay 101 Shooting Stars Events at the seventh and sixth place at the same time. Handling several tournaments at the same time is not for everyone. Obviously Bill is an exceptional player, because in June 2007 he won The World Series Of Poker against 728 of the best players in the poker world. Bill took more than $900,000 then and earned his first but not last World Series of Poker bracelet. Later Bill went deep into another tournament -WPT Championship and won $747,000 at the Gulf Coast Poker Championship in Biloxi.
There is no doubt that Bill Edler is one of the most unique poker players worldwide, but being successful at the poker table does not take all of Bill Edler’s time. He spends his free time with his loving wife and family at their home in Las Vegas. It is his beloved ho supports him and brings him luck all the way. He says himself that without her, he could never be person he is.
