About Betty Vandenbosch

Betty Vandenbosch brings an impressive resume of academic leadership to her role as Vice President of Business and Information Technology at Kaplan University. Assuming the position from her role as Dean of both the School of Information Systems and Technology and the School of Business and Management, Ms. Vandenbosch’s experience includes dedicated oversight during the integration of Kaplan’s undergraduate and graduate schools, a revision of the MBA program, the development of new accounting and information technology Master’s degree programs. Joining Kaplan University after 15 years with Ohio’s Case Western Reserve University, Betty Vandenbosch served the school’s Weatherhead School of Management as an Associate and Assistant Professor, the Associate Dean of the Executive Education Programs, and the Associate Dean of External Relations. Responsible for a $7.5 million budget during her tenure as Associate Dean for Executive Education, Betty Vandenbosch increased department revenue by 34 percent, as well as realizing a contribution support increase of 100 percent. Her continued excellence as an academic instructor garnered recognition from the Weatherhead School of Management’s Excellence in Executive Education Teaching Award in 2000 and 2004, the school's Teaching Excellence Award in 2001, and the Lewis-Progressive Assistant Professorship. The author of Designing Solutions for Your Business Problems, Betty Vandenbosch has made many contributions to the information and communications field as writer and lecturer. She has been invited to speak in conferences held in New Orleans, Seattle, and Pittsburgh, as well as a presentation of four case studies on “The Relationship between Psychological Ownership and IT-Driven Value” at MIT’s Center for Information Systems Research. She has also contributed to articles written for the Business Process Management Journal, the Journal of Management Studies, and the Journal of Information Technology. Additionally, Betty Vandenbosch serves as an Editor for the Journal of Business Strategy. An avid sailor, Betty Vandenbosch maintains membership with the national governing body for the sport, US Sailing.
