Dr. Bernie Raudszus is devoted to counseling both as a profession and as a necessary part of any community’s ability to function as a cooperative unit. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Raudszus understands the best way to offer emotional and professional help to the people who rely on him and his staff at the Living Well Counseling Center. Dr. Bernie Raudszus’ dissertation, Religion & Mental Health: Perceptions of Referral Attitudes toward Secular Therapy & Psychology among Assemblies of God Ministers in the State of Michigan, combined his background as an ordained minister with his licensure and training as a clinical psychologist. Taking a different approach to helping people by equipping others to help them as well, Dr. Bernie Raudszus has also taught classes as an Adjunct Professor of Counseling at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Using lectures, seminars, and peer learning settings and activities for his classes of 15 to 25 students, Dr. Raudszus taught classes like Developmental Issues in Counseling, Legal Issues and Ethics in Counseling, Research in Counseling, Counseling Theory in Multi-Cultural Contexts, Assessment and Testing, and Psychopathology. Dr. Bernie Raudszus himself continues to learn, attending additional classes on topics like sexuality, anger management, and diagnosis and treatment. In his positions as Staff Psychologist and Director at the Living Well Counseling Center, Dr. Bernie Raudszus remains as dedicated as ever to every aspect of the counseling experience, from hiring and training staff, to the treatment and community support of clients, regardless of their particular needs or religious background. In instances requiring more than outpatient counseling, Dr. Raudszus and the Living Well Counseling Center have established deep roots in the area and can provide referrals to specialists as needed.
