About Benjamin Soleimani
Ben Soleimani is an impassioned visionary whose family is an authority in the antique hand-woven rugs
marketplace. He is the fourth generation to work in his family's prestigious business, Mansour.
Eager to make his mark, in 1993 Ben Soleimani built his family's first United States showroom in Los
Angeles at the age of 18. In 2005, he founded Mansour Modern, a contemporary collection including his
own works of art like Barbare, Chambre, and Porcelaine. His collection is a modern-day reinterpretation
of conventional carpet motifs that distinctively stand out alongside such revered names as Michael Smith,Victoria Hagan and Kerry Joyce. His rare ability to create rugs that honor two millennia of tradition cannotbe denied. He sees each of his rugs as a beautiful work of art. Just one of his rugs can take up to six to seven months; there are no machines or factories, just a brilliant art form as its best. Born in Persia and raised in London, Ben Soleimani now calls L.A. his home, and is now working to transform the five-block stretch of Melrose Avenue between La Cienega and San Vicente into a hotspot
for not only the sophisticated but also the unique, young, and fun. What he has in mind is "a cross between the 7th [arrondissement] in Paris and Sloane Street in London." While continuing to rent to Alberta Ferretti, Waterworks, Kitson, and Soolip, he also plans to bring contemporary art galleries,
restaurants, and high-end fashion houses into this stretch of the city. Ben Soleimani spends his spare time competing in polo matches world-wide, including the Pacific Coast Open at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.
