About Benjamin Sielen
Benjamin Sielen - Professional Summary:
Benjamin Sielen has nearly two decades of experience in securities trading and risk management. As Director of Charlotte, North Carolina-based Wells Fargo Securities, he builds on leadership positions with the firm’s predecessor companies Wachovia Securities, First Union Securities, and Everen Securities. Benjamin Sielen provides capital markets solutions that emphasize high-grade corporate bonds and debts. To do so, he undertakes dedicated research and implementation of new financial models and risk systems.
Ben Sielen began his career in fixed-income sales with Chicago-headquartered Everen Securities. Performing investment portfolio analysis, he provided clients with focused advice on general trading issues. Ben Sielen notably worked with a variety of investment products, including asset-backed, agency, and government securities, as well as preferred stock and corporate and municipal bonds. The bonds he worked with included convertible, high-yield, and investment-grade offerings.
When First Union Securities acquired Everen Securities in 1999, Ben Sielen engaged with the Charlotte firm as a Convertible Bond Trader. After the Wachovia Securities and First Union Securities 2001 merger, Benjamin Sielen accepted responsibilities as Corporate Bond Trader-Vice President. Over a seven-year period, he traded corporate and high-quality bonds and employed hedging strategies that optimized risk-reward factors. He also took positions in bonds markets in conjunction with traders, clients, and investment banks. Wells Fargo Securities acquired Wachovia Securities in 2008, and Ben Sielen stayed on as Director.
Ben Sielen earned his B.S. in Finance at Milwaukee’s Marquette University, where he played ice hockey. Outside of work, he contributes to a number of charities involved in autism education and research.
