Benjamin Mautner

 

Benjamin Mautner - Professional Summary:   Maryland native Benjamin Mautner combines scholastic achievement with a wide array of responsibilities outside the classroom. A graduate of St. Albans School, a prestigious all-boys preparatory establishment and Princeton University, an Ivy League institution, Mr. Mautner successfully completed a difficult academic course load while finding time to volunteer, work, and engage in social and athletic opportunities.

During his time as an undergraduate at Princeton, Benjamin Mautner earned his psychology degree while working at the McCosh Health Center, the student clinic on campus, for two years. In this capacity, he assisted the trained medical professionals in the clinic and performed data entry duties. He also added volunteer activity to the responsibilities of work and school. Mr. Mautner tutored potential college applicants through Generation One, a collaboration between Princeton University and the local Princeton High School, which pairs high school students who could be the first of their family to go to college with college students familiar with the path to higher education. He also coached a youth basketball team, instilling in participants the virtues of teamwork and sportsmanship. Apart from these responsibilities, Mr. Mautner maintained memberships with the Ivy Club and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While at Princeton, he broadened his educational scope through travel abroad, spending a summer in Munich studying the German language and a semester in Scotland studying philosophy, Scottish literature, and medieval Scottish history at the University of Edinburgh.

Benjamin Mautner was equally involved in his school and community during his high school education at St. Albans, displaying a wide range of talents and interests. Participating in multiple academic clubs, he took part in the school’s It’s Academic TV Team, representing his school on the television quiz show, in addition to participating in math and engineering clubs. Mr. Mautner also applied himself athletically, playing midfield for the school’s lacrosse team and staying in shape by competing at cross country. He played drums for the school’s jazz band and served as Editor for the yearbook.
