Barry Ostrager

 

Attorney and commercial litigator Barry Ostrager serves Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York City as a Senior Litigation Partner with four decades of experience. With an outstanding professional and academic background, he set the stage for a prolific career while an undergraduate at City College of New York and, later, student at the New York University School of Law. Following receipt of his J.D. in 1972, Barry Ostrager completed a yearlong clerkship under Judge Arnold Bauman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York at about the time he earned his M.A. from City College. After being admitted to the New York State Bar in 1973, he joined Simpson Thacher as an Associate, commencing a lengthy career with the major international law firm. 

 

Since then, Barry Ostrager has risen to the upper echelons of his profession, gaining recognition on regional, national, and, indeed, global levels. The lead attorney on a number of high-profile cases, Mr. Ostrager has secured substantial settlements over his career, with notable successes in Chase Manhattan Bank v.
