Barry Levet, MD, holds long experience in the medical field as a cardiothoracic surgeon. Educated at Tulane University, he earned his undergraduate degree in psychology, graduating with honors in 1986. After completing his Doctor of Medicine at Tulane’s School of Medicine, he performed a general surgical residency at Marshall University and a cardiothoracic fellowship at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Levet’s early career included holding an attending position at West Monroe, Louisiana’s Glenwood Regional Medical Center; performing emergency medicine at Ville Platte Medical Center in Ville Platte, Louisiana; and working with Cardiothoracic Surgery LLC in New Orleans, Louisiana. In April 2006, Dr. Barry Levet joined the Schumacher Group, where he served for several years before accepting his current position as a physician for Acadiana Center for Orthopedic and Occupational Medicine. 

Highly engaged with the medical community in State of Louisiana, Dr. Barry Levet at one time served as Vice President of the Louisiana State Medical Society. He also holds active memberships with organizations including The Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. Previously, Dr. Levet served as a member of the Board of Directors of MedCamps of Louisiana and Chairman of the Medical Records Department of Glenwood Regional Medical Center. 

Over the course of his medical career, Dr. Barry Levet has published several academic articles and had his work featured in a medical textbook. Currently living in Broussard, Louisiana, Dr. Levet continues to develop his career as a cardiothoracic surgeon.
