Admitted to the bar by the South African and the United States Supreme Courts, Barry Baskin became a California Superior Court Judge in 2002. While living in South Africa, Barry Baskin clerked at Baskin & Partners, then became a Managing Partner at the same firm. Barry Baskin, who passed the South African Bar at the age of 22, excelled at handling civil cases and gained experience in business law. Barry Baskin began his career in the United States with a firm in San Francisco. His responsibilities included work with intellectual property rights and antitrust cases. When Barry Baskin became a Partner in his own firm, Farrow, Bramson, Baskin & Plutzik, he served as lead counsel in federal antitrust and multimillion-dollar class action suits. In addition, Barry Baskin defended a shareholders' derivative suit worth $30 million. Recently, Barry Baskin reflected on his experiences as a South African-born jurist for the Contra Costa Lawyer.
