About Attorney Randy Turner

As a practicing attorney with more than three decades of experience, Randy Turner continues to serve a variety of diverse clients as a founding partner in the law firm of Turner & McKenzie, PC, in Hurst, Texas. Mr. Turner was licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas in 1980, and immediately founded Russell & Turner, LLP. Mr. Turner stayed with that firm until 2008. Today, Mr. Turner focuses on personal injury trial law, civil litigation, and animal law. He is board certified in both personal injury trial law and civil trial law, and is the former president of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association. 

Over the course of his career, Randy Turner has done extensive pro-bono work for a variety of non-profit organizations dedicated to the welfare of animals. These include the Animal Guardians of America, Animal Angels Texas, the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Animal Connection of Texas, Bat World Sanctuary and many others. Respected for his work in the development of legal theories in animal law, including such areas as constitutional law and animal rights activists, tort liability and animals, and animal cruelty, Mr. Turner has contributed a number of published works to the literature of his profession. Examples of his publications include “Animal Rights Activists, Dangerous Dogs, and Veterinary Malpractice,” and Case Law & Legislative Updates for the Animal Law Institute in Austin, Texas, and "Damages Recoverable for the Death of a Companion Animal" in the Texas Bar Journal. 

Randy Turner earned his Juris Doctor (JD) in 1980 from the San Antonio, Texas-based St. Mary’s University School of Law. In addition to representing clients in his busy law practice, he does extensive volunteer work for numerous philanthropic and charitable organizations. Organizations that Mr. Turner has supported through his volunteer efforts include the Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, and Fly the Kids, Inc., as well as animal-centered organizations such as the Humane Society of North Texas, the Texas Humane Legislation Network, and Earthwatch, where he has worked on rehabilitation and conservation efforts for orangutans in Borneo, Indonesia, and black rhinos in Zimbabwe.
