Atef Zakhary - Professional Summary: Obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Atef Zakhary has delivered successful results for patients of his Tampa, Florida, practice for over 10 years. Educated in both Egypt and the United States, Dr. Zakhary finished four residencies after his graduation from Cairo University’s Combined Undergraduate and Medical School Program. Dr. Atef Zakhary completed residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in New Jersey, a military hospital in Cairo, and the Kalama Village Hospital in Kalyoub, Egypt. He also undertook a residency in internal medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In both of his U.S. residencies, Dr. Zakhary achieved the position of Chief Resident. After gaining professional experience as a Mental Health Technician at Glen Oaks Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, Dr. Atef Zakhary earned his board certification in internal medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology.
Currently employed by the Omni Medical Center for Women, Dr. Atef Zakhary serves his patients with a combination of thoughtful, compassionate bedside manner and expert care in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Zakhary specializes in delivering children but is authorized to perform a full range of procedures, including Cesarean section, episiotomy, hysterectomy, fallopian tube division, and removal of scar tissue in the abdominal lining. Dr. Zakhary’s experience managing high-risk pregnancies helps to increase the odds that babies will be born healthy. Patients and their families have praised Dr. Atef Zakhary’s professionalism and expertise and have ranked him among the top two OB-GYNs in Tampa.
Dr. Atef Zakhary has published several medical articles, and he received the annual publication award from Jersey Shore University Medical Center in 1995. Dr. Zakhary maintains membership in several notable medical organizations, such as the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Egyptian Medical Association, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Atef Zakhary also holds an Affiliate Assistant Professor position at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine, where he teaches obstetrics and gynecology.
