About Ashley Sonlin
Ashley Sonlin - Biography:
Ashley Sonlin knew before she turned 10 years old that she wanted to pursue a music career. She began writing songs at age seven and has not stopped. A June 2011 graduate of Central Bucks High School West in the Philadelphia area, she will enter Berklee College of Music in Boston in the fall, among the 30 percent of the worldwide applicants accepted. Eighty percent of the institution’s graduates find work in the music industry, and more than 200 have earned GRAMMY Awards. Ashley Sonlin will join students from Colombia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Canada, Italy, and 74 other countries at Berklee College of Music.
In summer 2010, Ashley Sonlin traveled to Berklee College of Music to participate in the Five-Week Summer Performance Program. Chosen to join the school’s respected Tower of Power Ensemble, she appeared in concert with the group at the Berklee Performance Center. Ashley Sonlin has also performed as the opening act for Micah Sloat at Cleveland’s House of Blues and at the storied Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. At this National Historic Landmark, numerous country and western stars, as well as Enrico Caruso, Elvis Presley, and members of The Metropolitan Opera also entertained audiences.
With vocal coach Robert Marks in New York City, Ashley Sonlin has studied for five years and appeared at numerous New York cabaret theatres. On YouTube, visitors can view several such performances, including Ashley Sonlin singing and playing guitar for her original works. In addition to live appearances, the singer/songwriter has recorded a number of songs with Emmy Award recipient Lisa Ratner, a composer, arranger, and producer.
Ashley Sonlin promotes her music online through a number of social media sites. In addition to several YouTube performances, Ms. Sonlin maintains an active presence on Facebook.
