Arun Karthik is a cricketer, who was born on February 15, 1986 in Walajapet, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a promising right-handed batsman and a budding all-rounder with right-arm medium bowling style. Arun Karthik represented Tamil Nadu in the Ranji One Day Internationals (ODIs) and also played cricket for Srilankan first-class Sports Club Badureliya. He debuted in List A match in November 2007, playing for the Badureliya Sports Club against the Chilaw Marians Cricket Club at Katunauake, Srilanka. On April 1, 2008, Arun Karthik was a part of the Tamil Nadu team that played a match against Madhya Pradesh at Visakhapatnam. As of 2008, he has played twelve List A matches and scored 263 runs at an average of 21.91, which includes twenty three fours and one six.
Arun Karthik made a good knock of 95 runs, which includes nine boundaries and two sixes for his Combined Districts under-22 team in a Test match against City under-22 on day one of the City-Districts match for the Nanal Srinivasan Trophy. Arun Karthik is a consistent performer in league matches on domestic front.
For his consistent performance, Arun Karthik he was selected for Chennai Super Kings to play at the Indian Premier League (IPL). His team won the runners-up title in the inaugural season of the IPL.
