A joint venture between JG Summit Holdings and Abenson, Inc., that is engaged in appliance retailing. JG Summit Holdings is the holding company of the Gokongwei family to various business interests such as food processing, telecommunications, real estate, aviation, textile manufacturing, and retailing. Abenson, Inc. is currently the country’s leader in appliance retailing with more than 50 stores nationwide.
Accomplishments and Specific Functions:

? Making Sales Analysis and Performance Evaluation of different department and concessionaires to determine areas for improvement to increase sales and profit.
? Overseeing the overall operations of the store. Making sure that all departments are working efficiently to achieve smooth operations, good coordination, proper use of manpower and high quality of service to customers.
? Coordinates closely with the merchandising department with regards to Stock Management.
? Initialized move to decrease operating costs of at least 8% every month to increase profitability. Operating expense such as manpower, electric bill, water bill and supplies once controlled and properly monitored will yield a positive effect on cost reduction and increase in revenue.

? Primary responsible in overseeing the overall operations of the store especially the selling area. Overseeing all departments by properly monitoring stocks and better merchandising display that gears toward realizing company’s mission of providing better service, healthy consumption and value for money.

Accomplishments and Specific Functions:

? Member of the team that oversaw the turnaround of company owned and operated stores. This was accomplished by putting into place a program that upgraded the selling areas, improved the stores’ merchandising and sales promotion efforts, and trained the staff in customer service techniques. Effected a turnaround within the first year, transforming a P1million loss into P8.6 million profit.

? Requested promotional budget to the GM that resulted in an 18% increase in same store sales. Developed creative marketing and advertising promotions that included attractive premium items, discount programs, credit card tie-ups, mall exhibits, and mailers.

? Maximize the market’s profit contribution to R-Abenson Appliance by increasing sales and controlling expenses. Manage P600 million in sales; contribute approximately P25 million to R-Abenson in operating income.

? Helped the General Manager in preparing reports (three-year strategic plan) for the JG Summit Executive Committee, to meet corporate financial reporting requirements. The reports are being used by store managers in planning and controlling the business.
