A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Arthur Leveris served as a Division Officer before transitioning to Airborne Express. As a Field Services Supervisor, Arthur Leveris first gained experience in the shipping industry. Arthur Leveris supervised pick-up and delivery and was selected over more senior supervisors to become his district's duty supervisor within a year. Arthur Leveris enjoyed a rapid series of promotions within Airborne Express, moving up to station services management and then PM management by 2001. Along the way, Arthur Leveris earned a reputation for dramatically increasing profit by reducing waste, preventing theft, and implementing a number of other business growth strategies.
In 2002, Arthur Leveris accepted a position as a Station Services Manager in Boston, and in 2003, DHL and Airborne Express merged. Arthur Leveris remained a top performer, overseeing the distribution of 17,000 parcels a day and directing 6 customer service representatives, 9 supervisors, and 140 couriers, in addition to fulfilling the needs of more than 7,000 customers. Arthur Leveris also leveraged his talents for strategic management and introduced new work methods, reducing costs by more than $800,000 that year.
In line with the precedent he set at Airborne Express, Arthur Leveris rose steadily through the ranks at DHL. Arthur Leveris took on roles as an Operations Performance Manager (2005-2008), then as Director of Strategic Initiatives (Impact), Northeast (2008-2009). In the latter position, Arthur Leveris was called on to strengthen one of DHL's strategic arms. Bringing to bear his knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (Arthur Leveris is LSS Black Belt certified), Arthur Leveris reduced costs and improved the company's efficiency. Arthur Leveris also succeeded in increasing international service performance while introducing cuts in personnel and equipment, a highly significant achievement.
Arthur Leveris is currently the Founder of Lean Business Solutions Consulting, where he combines his long experience in the shipping sector with industry-bridging expertise.
