Career
Fleischman first entered the hospitality world in 1969 as General Manager of Hyatt Hotels Corp. in Rosemont, Illinois. Fleischman’s natural business tact and hospitality expertise helped him rise through the Hyatt ranks quickly, moving from Food and Beverage Manager to Resident Manager and eventually General Manager of Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles hotel branches. Fleischman was even nominated as Hyatt Hotels’ Manager of the Year.
Career Accomplishments
Fleischman’s efforts at Hyatt helped him move into an Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer position at Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in 1979. This job would set the standard for Fleischman’s future success as a corporate executive. In his new role, Arnie Fleischman was responsible for over 2,800 employees and was charged with managing and supervising the bulk of their activities. Fleischman joined the project in its initial development stages, and he played a major role in the Nugget’s construction and initial opening. The efforts of Fleischman and other corporate leaders allowed Golden Nugget to reach early profit margins and even to earn the Atlantic City Gaming Industry award. In 1981, Arnie Fleischman moved to Atlantis Hotel & Casino, where he served as President until 1984. Fleischman enjoyed another round of success at Atlantis, increasing annual revenue by almost half while dramatically improving customer service levels. Fleischman spent the next few years exploring the restaurant market, leading two different New York restaurants. By 1991, Arnie Fleischman returned to the hospitality industry that had sparked his initial success, working as Senior General Manager at Promus, Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee. Fleischman took an important management position at the company’s leading hospitality project, the Embassy Suites Hotel in Times Square. Fleischman once again increased profitability at the hotel, using inventive marketing techniques to raise profits by 35%.
