Arjun Yadav is a professional Indian cricketer, who was born on December 23, 1981 in Palakkad, Kerala. Being the son of the former Indian Test cricketer, Shivlal Yadav, he chose to follow his father’s footsteps. He plays as a right-handed middle-order batsman and is also an off-spin bowler.

His brilliant display in age-group cricket paved the way for his selection into the Indian team for the Under-19 World Cup held in Sri Lanka in 1999-2000.

Arjun Yadav made his mark by scoring an unbeaten 79 for the Hyderabad team at the Super League Ranji Trophy match against Bengal in Hyderabad, helping the team to score a decent total of 258 for 6 the first day. Arjun Yadav has also been a part of the South Zone and India A squad. His scintillating century as the captain of Hyderabad led the team to a notable draw on the final day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group match against Baroda at Gymkhana Grounds. Arjun Yadav has played in 59 First-class matches scoring 2769 runs, which include three centuries as of 2008.

Arjun Yadav made his Twenty20 (T20) debut in April 2007 against Goa at Visakhapatnam. Arjun Yadav was selected to be a part of the Deccan Chargers team for the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. He played his last match of the season against the Chennai Super Kings at Hyderabad in May 2008. He played in eight games at the tournament and has a strike rate of 125.64.
