About Anura Perera
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Anura Perera serves as the head of the George Phylnormel Foundation. Under Anura Perera's direction, the foundation provides relief to charities across the globe. A conscientious individual, Mr. Perera focuses his charitable efforts on a myriad of groups and organizations.
Anura Perera's George Phylnormel Foundation has played an integral role in the development of Buddhist centers in various locations around the world. As a supporter of well-known spiritual teacher Bhante Wimala, Anura Perera has advised the George Phylnormel Foundation to serve the meditative needs of all individuals in need of guidance. Additionally, Anura Perera and the George Phylnormel Foundation have funded Bhante Wimala and his associates at the Triple Gem Society in their efforts to build permanent homes for victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
To date, Anura Perera's George Phylnormel Foundation has pledged full assistance in overseeing the construction of approximately 50 homes for those tsunami survivors.
Despite a lengthy career as a notable business executive with experience throughout the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, Anura Perera began as a mechanical engineer. After receiving training and education in his native Sri Lanka, Anura Perera relocated to Zambia, where he worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a salesman. Following that venture, Anura Perera moved around the globe and held a variety of positions before starting his own successful company, which he currently manages.
An active and knowledgeable leader, Anura Perera maintains membership in a wide range of professional organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Association of Supervisory and Executive Engineers, the Institution of Incorporated Engineers, and the Institution of Engineers and Technicians. Currently, Anura Perera's professional endeavors focus on his role as Chairman for Raycom Aerospace Pte Ltd.
