About Anthony Wayne Hawks
A seasoned attorney with his own law firm, Anthony Wayne Hawks currently practices government contracting law in Washington, D.C., while serving as Vice-Chairman and legal director of Amend America, a 501(c)(3) public policy organization. Anthony Wayne Hawks completed his law degree at Georgetown University Law Center, graduating cum laude in 1984 and earning the coveted Leahy Prize for Best School Advocate. After receiving his Juris Doctor, he served as a judicial clerk for Judge Albert V. Bryan, Jr., of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia.
Anthony Wayne Hawks quickly established his career as a commercial litigator and government contracts attorney. By 1992, he achieved the position of Partner at Furr & Brownell in these practice areas and then in December 1995, he established the Hawks Law Office in Washington, D.C. As Principal of his own firm, he serves a niche area in the law by concentrating on government contract issues for printer clients. His expertise has brought him recognition as a leading attorney in the print and publishing industry. From 1997 to 2008, Anthony Wayne Hawks also served the print industry as General Counsel and later as President of e-LYNXX Corporation, one of the nation’s leading print management firms.
While maintaining his career as Principal of the Hawks Law Office, Anthony Wayne Hawks began pursuing his interests in public policy and constitutional reform. In 2010, he co-founded Amend America, a non-partisan organization fostering online networking to drive constitutional reform. Hawks’ key contributions to the group include writing articles and website content. His writings focus on analyses of proposed constitutional amendments and reform of the Article V amendment process itself. Over the course of his legal career, Hawks has contributed articles for various publications, including USA Today Magazine and Legal Times.
