Anthony Reategui is a professional poker player from Chandler, Arizona, who worked at Mesa, Arizona car washing facility before taking up poker as a profession. His career as a poker pro kicked off, when he participated in the Orleans Open, 2002 that was held at Orleans Hotel & Casino. He claimed the winner’s title in the No-Limit Hold'em event and took home $13,785 in prize money. In 2003, he took part in the National Championship of Poker (NCP 2003), and became the second runner-up in the No-Limit Hold'em event.
In 2005, Anthony Reategui entered the World Poker Challenge – World Poker Tour (WPT) Season 3 and took part in the No-Limit Hold'em event. He outperformed all 234 entrants of the event and made an incredible first-place finish collecting prize money worth $14,908. Few months after this victory, Anthony Reategui repeated the feat in the 36th Annual World Series of Poker, 2006. He took part in Event 16 – World Series of Poker (WSOP) Shootout – No-Limit Hold'em and outlasted all participants. At the final table, he played against Paul Kroh, a poker pro from Battle Mountain, Nevada and finished in first place to take home his maiden bracelet and whooping prize money worth $269,100.
Luck continued to be on his side, when Anthony Reategui made to the final tables in two events at the 2005 Legends of Poker - WPT Season 4. He participated in Event 26 – No-Limit Hold'em, held at the Bicycle Casino, and made an impressive first-place finish that earned him $83,600 cash prize. In the same tournament, he also participated in Event 24 – No-Limit Hold'em and walked away with the runner-up position and $54,530 in prize money.
Anthony Reategui entered the Festa al Lago IV WPT Event/Season 4 and won $64,105 by participating in a few events at the tournament. In 2006, Anthony Reategui took part in the LA Poker Classic/WPT Event Season 4 and played in Event 20 – Pot-Limit Hold'em, survived all the participants to make it to the final table. He finished in second place to walk away with $44,843 cash prize. Months after this title, he made his appearance in the Five-Star World Poker Classic - WPT Championship Season 4, 2006. He played heads-up against Robert Mizrachi of United States in the No-Limit Hold'em event. After a couple hours at the final table, Anthony Reategui won the title by finishing first and bagged prize money worth $214,275. Soon after this victory, in May 2006, Anthony Reategui took part in the Mirage Poker Showdown/WPT Event Season 5. He completed third in the Heads Up event and earned $46,560.
Anthony Reategui took part in the 37th Annual World Series of Poker and played in Event 13 - No-Limit Hold'em. In this event, he played the final table against the Italian poker pro, Max Pescatori, a two time WSOP bracelet winner. He finished second and walked home with prize money worth $356,040. After this WSOP final table, he also entered many other events including the 38th Annual World Series of Poker, 2007. In November 2007, in the Holiday Bonus Tournament, Anthony Reategui took part in Event #13 - No Limit Hold'em in which he completed sixth. As of 2008, Anthony Reategui has total live tournament winnings that exceed $1,200,000 with one WSOP bracelet, five first place finishes and 32 cashes.
