About Andy Wilkinson

Andy Wilkinson is a professional footballer, who was born on August 6, 1984 in Stone, an old market town in Staffordshire, England.

He began his football career with the Stoke City’s youth academy and improved his football skills. Impressed with his performances, the Stoke City Football Club (FC) moved Andy Wilkinson to the first team of the club in 2001. His playing career was often disrupted by his injuries, which kept him away from playing for the Potters in the 2002-03 season. He was sent on a loan to the Association Football Club Telford United for a brief period in the 2003-04 season. Andy Wilkinson appeared in 8 matches for the Bucks before being loaned to the Partick Thistle Football Club, a Scotland outfit, in the 2004-05 season. He scored a goal for the Scotland club in the 12 games he played for the team.

Andy Wilkinson served another short loan period with the Shrewsbury Town Football Club of Football League Two in 2005. He represented the Shrews in 9 games before being sent to the Blackpool Football Club on another loan stint in the 2006-07 season. He played 7 matches for the Seasiders during his short stay and while representing other clubs improved his defensive football skills. On his return to the Stoke City FC, Andy Wilkinson performed well in the matches during 2007 and is expected to be a first-team regular in the Potters’ squad. As of the year 2008, he has played 38 games for the Stoke City FC.
