Andrew Gentin - Professional Experience: Andrew Gentin is a trial attorney in the Fraud Section, Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice, where he focuses on the investigation and prosecution of corporations and individuals for violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and related statutes. Mr. Gentin negotiates corporate plea, deferred, and non-prosecution agreements on behalf of the Department of Justice. Andrew Gentin successfully investigated and prosecuted four individuals for their roles in a multi-million dollar theft of fuel from the U.S. Army in Iraq. Mr. Gentin makes presentations and appears on panels focusing on the FCPA and anti-corruption matters.
Prior to joining the Fraud Section, Andrew Gentin was a trial attorney with the Criminal Division's Office of International Affairs. In this position, Mr. Gentin advised prosecutors and other law enforement personnel on international criminal law issues related to Canada, the United Kingdom, and several other countries. He liaised with foreign prosecutorial agencies regarding extradition, mutual legal assistance, and transnational criminal enterprises. Andrew Gentin received the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator's Award for his contributions to Operation Raw Deal.
Before joining the Justice Department, Andrew Gentin was an associate at two Washington law firms, where he focused on white collar crime. He defended clients against allegations of financial fraud, public corruption, and campaign finance violations. Following his graduation from Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Gentin served as a law clerk to the Honorable John A. Terry on the D.C. Court of Appeals.
