Andrew Carroll is a professional football player who was born on June 1, 1989 in Gateshead, England. He completed his primary education at the Brighton Avenue Primary School and attended the Joseph Swan School.


On September 11, 2007, Andrew Carroll won his first international cap and played for the England Under-19 team. He scored a goal and contributed for the team’s 4-0 victory over Belarus. As of 2008, he has made eight appearances for the U-19 side, and scored four times.


Andrew Carroll began his professional football career with the Newcastle United youth team in 2005, and in the following year he was graduated to the senior side of the club. He made his first-team debut for the club in its Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Cup game against Palermo on November 2, 2006, and he became the youngest player to represent Newcastle United in Europe. Andrew Carroll made his first appearance in the Football Association (FA) Cup in a home match against Birmingham City.


This striker made his premiership debut on February 25, 2007 for the club in its match against Wigan Athletic. Andrew Carroll scored his first senior goal for Newcastle United in its 2-0 win over Juventus in a friendly game. Following this goal, he received appreciation from the legendary Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, who believed Andrew Carroll has a bright future ahead.


He signed a six-month loan with Preston North End on August 14, 2007 and made his debut for the club in the League Cup match against Morecambe. In 2007, Andrew Carroll won the Wor Jackie Milburn trophy, which is given every year to the rising star of north-east football.


On May 11, 2008, he made his first full appearance for the club in its match against Everton. Andrew Carroll scored his first Championship goal, and his first English league goal for Preston in its playoff against Leicester City on November 6, 2007. After the six-month period, he returned to Newcastle United and extended his tenure with the club by signing a new four-year contract, which will keep him with the club until 2011.
