Andreas Tapakoudes

With degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Industrial Electronic Systems from Kings College London, Andreas Tapakoudes has spent more than 13 years of his career concentrating on solar energy technology. Eventually moving to Cyprus and as founder of ATMicro Solar Ltd., Andreas Tapakoudes involved himself with the solar panel developer from its inception while researching the industry and interacting with major players in the field such as BP Solar Global and AstroPower.

 

Throughout Andreas Tapakoudes' tenure with the company, he designed solar panels, installed PV products, and expanded the company globally by establishing another branch in Singapore. Continuing his efforts in solar panel technology, Andreas Tapakoudes next became CEO of Volptech Worldwide. At the London-based firm, Andreas Tapakoudes concentrated on solar-powered communication systems, including one for use in the event of a disaster. Several of his products received patents. Traveling to the United States and throughout the UK to find investors, Andreas Tapakoudes presented his discoveries to the Voice over the Internet (VON) conference in Boston, Massachusetts, and the annual International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

Since 2007, Andreas Tapakoudes has functioned as President and CEO of QSolar Limited in Watford, United Kingdom. At QSolar Limited, Tapakoudes remains on the forefront of the solar panel industry. Andreas Tapakoudes' proprietary technologies Kruciwatt and Spraytech79 earned the green-friendly QSolar Limited patents and recognition due to the abilities to reduce waste and production times. Made of non-toxic compounds, Spraytech79, for example, utilizes an impenetrable spray, rather than a laminator, to protect photocells from weather damage.
