Anders Wijk, a professional poker player from Sweden, is fairly new to the poker scene and is mostly seen competing in the European poker circuit. Wijk picked up his first tournament cash in April 2006 at the Nordic Masters of Poker tournament held at the Casino Cosmopol in Stockholm, Sweden. Competing in the SKr 25,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event, Wijk finished an impressive 7th from the 179-strong field, taking home $22,961 of the $574,017 prize pool.

His next major performance came at the Swedish Poker Championships at the same venue in June 2006. With a total of 300 entrants in the fray, Anders Wijk finished 18th and earned himself $3,344 for his efforts.

Anders Wijk’s biggest career cash came in January 2007 at the Scandinavian Open in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the DKr 37,500 European Poker Tour No Limit Hold'em event, Wijk climbed his way through the 400-strong field to make it to the final table. Competing for a prize pool of $2,394,927, Wijk eventually finished 8th, leaving Casino Copenhagen $64,663 richer. This performance took Wijk’s total career earnings to $90,967.
