Amy Griffin - Professional Summary:
Amy Griffin earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. As a student, she participated in various extracurricular activities such as volleyball. Amy Griffin maintains her relationship with the university and continues to contribute to various projects, including an upgrade for the sand volleyball courts at the school. In addition to sitting on the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Athletics Foundation, Amy Griffin recently donated $5 million to the campus to support its upgrades of athletic fields and facilities. Her donation is the seed of a $14 million project that will include lights, a scoreboard, locker rooms, and seating. Griffin hopes her donation will encourage student athletes to continue developing their skills in and out of the classroom.
Her other community endeavors include her work with Oakencroft Farm. The farm is environmentally friendly and uses green pesticides and organic fungicides. Additionally, the farm recently began producing non-alcoholic grape juice instead of wine. In order to successfully create a quality product, Griffin exchanged ideas with other grape juice vineyards across the country and in New Zealand. Oakencroft Farm grew grapes for Seyval Blanc, Chambourcin, and Traminette in 2011. Each of the juices offers a distinct flavor that can be paired with meals and desserts. Oakencroft Farm works to sustain a vibrant and healthy environment suitable for farming and harvesting.
