Amit Mishra is a professional cricketer, who was born on November 24, 1982 in Delhi, India. He is a right-handed batsman and a leg break bowler, and he is compared with Shane Warne, an Australian ace spinner, by many critics.
He was selected for the Indian squad for the West Indies series at home in October 2002, but was not included in the starting eleven. Amit Mishra made his debut in One Day International (ODI) in the TVS Cup against South Africa at Dhaka on April 13, 2003. He played three ODIs and took two wickets at an average of 33.50.
At domestic level, he plays for Haryana and made his First-class debut during the 2000-01 season and ended the 2007 season with an impressive 46 wickets in 11 games. He played 76 first-class matches and bagged 294 wickets at an average of 25.17.
For his impressive leg breaks and the odd fizzing googly, Amit Mishra was selected for Delhi Daredevils to play at Indian Premier League (IPL), 2008 season. In a match against Deccan Chargers, he scalped a matching-winning hat-trick and bagged 5 wickets for 17 runs in four overs. His impressive performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
