About Amir Shayesteh

Amir Shayesteh, a professional poker player from Lafayette, California, is still relatively unknown on the poker circuit. But Shayesteh grabbed the limelight in 2007, when he tore through a competitive field and registered a final table finish at the Bay 101 Shooting Stars in San Jose.

The California native fought his way through a field of 450 entrants in the $9,600 World Poker Tour No Limit Hold'em Championship Event in San Jose to book himself a place at the final table. Shayesteh held his own against more experienced opponents and walked away with a handsome $314,500 for his impressive 3rd place performance. This remains Amir Shayesteh’s best tournament performance to date.

In January 2008, Amir Shayesteh picked up his second tournament cash at the LA Poker Classic. In a field of 605 entrants, all vying for a share in the $293,425 prize pool, the Californian finished a disappointing 43rd, earning himself $1,440 for his efforts, and taking his career earnings to $315,940 from just two events.
