Amiad Zionpur

Amiad was born and raised in Israel.  In 1993 he joined the Israel Defense Forces and served as an Army Rangers Officer for four years.  Later, he joined the reserve army, served in a similar unit for ten years and finally left in 2006 after serving the last two years as a company commander. 

 

In 2002, during his studies for B.Sc in Industrial Engineering and Management at Ben Gurion University, he was re-introduced to his high-school girlfriend, Jennifer, an American who at that time lived in Hawaii.  She moved to Israel in 2003 and started her MD studies at the BGU-Columbia medical school.  In 2005 Amiad and Jen got married and after Jen's graduation in 2007 they moved to Grand Rapids, MI for Jen's OB-GYN residency.  They have a two year-old daughter name Kalani. 

 

While in school, Amiad worked for Eltel Technologistics LTD., a systems and service provider for the Israel Defense Forces.  He started as a company controller and after three years he moved to the position of Team Leader and Assistant Department Manager.  In this position he founded the organization's instructing section, led a course for new employees, managed a team of 10 controllers, was responsible for the team's QA and worked with the division manager on analyzing and writing documents for future contracts with different defense companies.  He left this job when he moved to the U.S.

  

After a year of a full-time "daddy" position, which he enjoyed a lot, Amiad spent a year working for Google Inc. as a quality rater.  This was a home based position in which he could maintain a flexible schedule and combine it with other work. 

 

As a main job these days, Amiad works as the production manager at Karni Farm, an organic herbs farm located in Wayland, MI.  In this position, he is responsible for 20 employees, the productivity and efficiency of the packing facility and more.

 

In 2008, Amiad decided to make an old dream come true and founded Geffen Productions.  The company creates specialty boutique wine tours in Israel for an American audience, and is aiming to enter the events market in the future.
