About Alma Tuck

Away from his professional life as a technology industry consultant, Alma Tuck enjoys a variety of personal activities. Since his time in college, he has remained a member of the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that he values deeply. In fact, in 1997, Alma Tuck was part of a group of 50 Boy Scouts from the states of Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska to travel to Sydney, Australia, for the World Scouting Jamboree. An admirer of Australia and its people, he also lived abroad there for two years while serving on a full-time mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.


Beyond travel, Alma Tuck enjoys independent software projects, amateur (HAM) radios, and promoting charity concerts. He also enjoys adventurous outdoor activities like running, hiking, and especially flying airplanes. Alma Tuck has done everything from build model airplanes to fly private planes as the Pilot in Command. Among the many aircraft he has flown, he fondly lists the Cessna 182, Diamond Katana DA20, Extra 300, Lancair IV-P, Lancair Legacy, Piper Arrow, and Beechcraft Duke B60.


Along with the activities he enjoys, Alma Tuck also devotes time and energy to community service and charity projects. Besides his mission to Australia, in 2010, he managed the competition of 50 teams in a three-on-three basketball tournament in Alpine, Utah. He also served as a copilot for the 2011 Nephi, Utah, rodeo skydiver drop. When he donates to worthy causes, he often contributes to the Utah County Food Bank.


Professionally, Alma Tuck has built an impressive resume that includes founding three distinct companies and working at a number of others. Before moving into the current phase of his career as an independent consultant, he worked as a Consultant and Senior Developer at CityDeals.com, Overstock.com, and XPI, Inc., where he also held the role of Acting Director of Business Operations. Before entering the technology industry and founding his first company, Alma Tuck studied at Dixie State College of Utah and Utah Valley State College (now Utah Valley University).
