About Alison Reeves
Life coach and workshop facilitator based in North London, working with adults and young people to effectively make positive changes and manage themselves through transitions in their lives. I use effective tools in helping people to set and work towards their goals, using their own personal values and strengths as motivators.
I assist in facilitating workshops with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI). The work of NCBI aids participants to embrace diversity in a wonderful way that is beyond the standard legislation and jargon.
I have delivered workshops and training in the following areas:
- CV Writing and Interview Skills in Practice. I recently worked with Women and Manual Trades to deliver 'Career with Confidence', delivered to unemployed women in East London, who were seeking work in construction. The 'Career with Confidence' workshop aided the women to compile their CVs, learn effective interview techniques and build their confidence in finding work
- Team building activities with young people as part of a Health for Young People Programme
- A discussion workshop to Entry to Employment group on Discrimination and Criminal Justice System
- Stress Management to Year 8 in Westminster secondary school
- Careers options and awareness to Years 9, 10 and 11 in Westminster secondary school
- Introduction to Connexions Service to Year 8 in Westminster secondary school
- I graduated from the University of Westminster in 1996 with a BA Hon Degree in Information Management and Finance. Since then I have undertaken learning, training and qualifications in:
Pro Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Training (NCBI)
Life Coaching
Neuro Linguistic Programming
Connexions Personal Adviser Diploma
BTEC Award in Mentoring in ContextMerit Award on Introduction to Recruitment Consultancy (Reed Training and Development)
I am actively involved in the work of NCBI and Re-Evaluation Counselling. Both practices enable me to stay on top of my appreciation and learning about myself and others and enable me to effectively deliver my life's work that I have defined as 'guiding and empowering myself and others, with fun and creativity'.
I enjoy reading about history, current affairs, personal development, NLP and human behaviour. I enjoy watching films, listening to music, playing word games and quizzes, so much so that I was a contestant on 'The Weakest Link', aired in April 2008. Big BIG fan of Countdown! I also enjoy seeing live music and comedy.
