About alf smith
Take your map of Rome and mark on some of the must see places -such as the Campo dei Floro has to be one of the most colourful squares in Rome and a great spot for tourists. There is an open-air market open to noon, and then the square is taken over by restaurants, pizza places, and pubs. In the centre is the statute of the martyr Giordano Bruno, burnt at the stake for his beliefs. No visit to Rome is complete without seeing the Coliseum and the Forum. Used until the 5th century the huge arena was used to stage gladitorial fights. Worth another mark on your map is the Trevi Fountain featuring a figure of Neptune at its centre. Beginning in 1732, the construction took 30 years, and it is a popular belief that anyone who throws coins into the fountain will be able to return to Rome one day.
