While enrolled as a student in the Pennsylvania State University College of Information Sciences and Technology, Alex Green supplemented his studies with an internship at Penn State Information Technology Services (ITS). Working as the lone analyst for a risk assessment on an ITS administrative application, he examined PHP source code for security weaknesses and suggested specific measures to counter any discovered vulnerabilities. Alex Green also served ITS as a consultant at the Penn State computer labs, where he assisted students and faculty with technical problems.
Alexander Green graduated from Pennsylvania State University at the end of the spring 2015 term with a BS in security and risk analysis and a minor in information sciences and technology. Focusing his studies on information and cyber security, he completed courses such as Computer and Cyber Forensics, during which he worked with a team to demonstrate password vulnerabilities over live wireless networks and devised measures that could be implemented to prevent such security breaches. He graduated with an overall 3.59 GPA.
Outside of his interest in cyber security, Alex Green participated in the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), which helps raise money and awareness for the university’s Four Diamonds Fund to assist patients and families struggling to overcome pediatric cancer. Previously, he served on the THON Operations Committee, as well as solicited donations as a member of OHANA, one of the top two special interest organizations contributing to THON.
