Ajinkya Rahane, a professional cricketer, who was born on June 5, 1988 in Ashwi-KD, Maharashtra, India and he is a right-handed batsman.
Ajinkya Rahane was a part of the Indian Under-19 (U-19) side, which toured New Zealand in early 2007, to participate in three four-day matches and three One Day International (ODIs). In the third and the final ODI, he scored a well-constructed century of 110 in 125 balls, helping his team to win the match and seal the ODI series 2-1. Ajinkya Rahane made his first ‘List A’ appearance on March 18, 2007 against Delhi in the Ranji One-day Trophy 2nd quarter-final, in which he scored his maiden List A fifty with 61 runs. Ajinkya Rahane made his First-class debut on September 8, 2007 for Mumbai against Karachi Urban in the Mohammad Nissar Trophy match and scored his maiden First-class century of 143 in the first innings.
On February 12, 2008, the second day of the Duleep Trophy match against England Lions, Ajinkya Rahane scored an unbeaten 93. He came in after West Zone lost one of his openers Sahil Kukreja early for a duck, and he partnered Wasim Jaffer in a 187-run stand to give his team an upper-hand by the end of day 2. On March 4, 2008, Ajinkya Rahane scored the highest individual score in the zonal one-day competition of 187 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match for Mumbai. He hit 17 fours and 8 sixes in the innings, helping his team to win the match by a whopping 216-run margin and eventually to retain the Trophy.
Ajinkya Rahane made his Twenty20 (T20) debut on April 3, 2007 in the Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament-West Zone match against Baroda at the Wankhede Stadium, which his team comfortably won, successfully chasing 107 with 8 wickets remaining and 23 balls to spare. He was signed by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians, and he made his IPL debut on April 27, 2008 against Deccan Chargers.
