About Adrian Cohen
An alumnus of the University of New South Wales, Dr. Adrian Cohen has built a solid career in the medical and rescue training industry since obtaining his degrees in medicine and surgery. Distinguished with the Churchill Fellowship, Adrian Cohen pursued further studies in trauma management with European Emergency Services. In his early career, Dr. Adrian Cohen served as the Chief Medical Officer of Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, where he logged over 1,000 flying hours. Additionally, Dr. Adrian Cohen served in the Royal Australian Air Force Specialist Reserve. Today, Dr. Adrian Cohen channels his expertise into heading Immediate Assistants, a medical risk management organization he founded in 1987. An expert in driving business growth, Dr. Adrian Cohen leads the company in providing services to a broad range of well-known clients, including the Association of Surfing Professionals, Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the Oceanman International Surf Lifesaving Competition, in addition to television shows such as Survivor, Baywatch, and Who Dares Wins. In the past decade alone, Dr. Adrian Cohen led the Immediate Assistants team in serving 28 countries. Over the course of his professional career, Dr. Adrian Cohen has contributed his experience to the industry at large through speaking engagements, media appearances, and writing. Dr. Adrian Cohen authored “Necksafe: the Acute Management of Spinal Injuries,” “Immediate First Aid,” and most recently, “Survivor First Aid.” Committed to staying abreast of evolving industry trends, Dr. Adrian Cohen maintains memberships in the International Society of Travel Medicine, the National Association of EMS Educators, the Australian Resuscitation Council, and the Emergency Care and Safety Institute, among others. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Adrian Cohen is highly involved with the global community through ongoing support of charitable organizations such as World Vision, Clean Up Australia, Amnesty International, and Doctors Without Borders.
