About Adam Gerber

Adam Gerber, nicknamed “baby poker”, was born in Philadelphia, USA, and now resides in Moorestown, New Jersey. Although he is young, Adam Gerber has a family, like he says: “I'm the ultimate family man. I love my kids, my brother and my parents. I like to work out and I love to work. We run a very good business; my brother and I work very hard. So I love to work, I love to travel and I love to be with my family.” Aside from being a professional poker player, Adam Gerber is also into golf and has tried out for the U.S.

Prior to getting into poker Adam Gerber used to be a blackjack and crasp player. He has had quite a few losses in those games. He would go to a casino and lose about three to four thousand a night, but when he started poker playing, Adam Gerber finally felt that everything was coming into places. On the table, he feelt self-confident, and in some way that he is in control of what’s happening. When asked the question how he started playing poker, Adam Gerber says he is not sure, but one thing is for certain – he likes gambling a lot and poker is the best thing in his life. The reason for that is because he has great control of the game, of what is happening. He has an appreciation for the very skill in poker, as he has stated that it is not anything like gambling on football for example: “I no longer want to bet a football game where the guy fumbles the ball and I lose the money and I don't have any control over it.” Adam Gerber says that hard work and dedication is the key to winning, or atleast for his winnings. He doesn’t play online or in any cash games, like some of his colleagues do.
At firs, a poker amateur, Adam Gerber, tried his luck in the 2007 World Poker Tour at the No-Limit Hold’em, in September 14th, 2007. He finished in second position, bringing home the respectful sum of $248,500. Just a month later he participated in the United States Poker Championship on the 2nd October, 2007 and became champion, wining the top prize of $ 606,095. And that’s not all, Adam Gerber managed to get his first gold bracelet . As of 2008 those two entries remain Adam Gerber`s only ones and his total cash winnings go over $854,595.

Adam Gerber is described as an optimist. He knows that one can not win all the time, but he is always positive: “ Of course, you are going to get bad beats and you're going to lose, but if you play well you're probably going to get into the money most of the time”. He is shows a mature behaviour towards the game, which makes him respectfull in the eyes of his opponents and that he is not blinded by his newly established, poker, fame.
