Aaron Ramsey is a Welsh footballer born on December 26, 1990 in Caerphilly, Malawi. He studied at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni in Caerphilly. Aaron Ramsey resides with his parents Marlene and Kevin, and his brother Josh. He was nicknamed “Rambo” after the fictional film character John Rambo. He is also called as “Gordon” after celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and “Marge Simpson”, a character in The Simpsons, an animated television series. Aaron Ramsey is bilingual, who can speak both Welsh and English.


Aaron Ramsey, a former captain of the Under-17 team of Wales, was the youngest footballer to play in the Welsh Under-21. He was also one of the youngest to be picked for the senior national team.Aaron Ramsey started his sporting career as a rugby player in the Caerphilly Rugby Football Club’s (RFC) youth development program before shifting his attention to football.


His performance in the Urdd Tournament earned him a spot in the Cardiff City team on July 2006. On April 28, 2007, he made his first appearance for Cardiff City, at the age of 16, becoming the youngest footballer to play for Cardiff City in the process. Aaron Ramsey made his first league appearance during the 2007-08 season in a 2-1 win against Burnley on October 6 as a substitute for the Dutch football striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.


In December 2007 Aaron Ramsey signed his first professional contract and got his maiden full-professional start for the club in the Football Association Challenge (FA) Cup game on January 5, 2008 against Chasetown as central midfielder. He received his first Player of the Round award for his stunning performance in this match, where he scored a goal in Cardiff’s 3-1 win.


Three weeks later, he made his league start in the clash against Queens Park Rangers in a 3-1 win and firmly established his place in the first eleven. Aaron Ramsey made a total of 22 appearances, including five FA Cup matches, that season.


His brilliant show in Cardiff’s 2-0 win over Middlesbrough in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup several top clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Everton evinced keen interest in roping him in for their teams. On June 13, 2008 Aaron Ramsey signed a long-term contract with Arsenal for an undisclosed fee estimated around £5million. His debut for Arsenal took place on August 13, 2008 against FC Twente in the UEFA Champions League Third Qualifying Round.Aaron Ramsey regards Welshman Ryan Giggs as his idol and his two other football favorites are Steven Gerrard and Roy Keane.


His major achievements in football career so far includes the being a member of the Arsenal squad that won the 2008 Amsterdam Tournament and the Cardiff team that finished as the runner-up at the 2008 Football Association Challenge (FA) Cup.
